TTFN USA

The final days were spent with good friends and Moto Guzzi experts Larry and Brian of GT Motors. They made the week special – with our day out to see the classic cars and bikes, taking me to a Thai restaurant and then a BBQ with Brian and the lovely Kim – the buffalo burgers were awesome and the strawberry and rhubarb pie with ice cream was fantastic.

I bought a large army surplus kit bag to pack all my bike gear and stuff and I dropped that off – along with the Breva, for a well-earned rest and full strip-down service done over the coming 9 months ready for Christine and me to do a mega-tour next year – at Brian’s garage.

And yesterday, Brian picked me up to take me to Lansing airport for the short-hop flight to Detroit. Lansing has a nice little airport that reminded me of my local airport in Denmark.P1050560P1050562Lansing

It was quite a bumpy ride and there were some dramatic, angry-looking clouds but for some reason, the photos don’t quite show that. It was a very short hop to Detroit and I had a 40 minute wait for the next short hop flight to Toronto – that flight was less bumpy and I had to sit next to a man who was on his phone the whole way.. I had booked a room at the Comfort Inn, close to the airport and only had to ring for the shuttle to pick me up and drop me at the (very comfy) hotel – huge too; there’s a bar and lots of rooms to wander around.P1050579 P1050581 P1050582 P1050583I’ll be landing at Gatwick at 0955 tomorrow.
