2016: Death Valley

Death Valley

September the 25th is my birthday and I wanted to spend some time in Death Valley. Even in September it is still too hot for me during the day so we planned to ride there late in the afternoon of the 24th. We booked three nights in the Longstreet Inn in Amargosa about 70 miles from one of the entrances to Death Valley. That meant we had the evening to relax and have a birthday meal, all the following day to rest and then set off for DV once the sun began to ease off a little.

Yes, there’s a gas station in Death Valley but fuel is at a premium

It was a late ride home; by the time we got back to the motel, it was almost midnight
