Well, sorry I have been such a failure at keeping up this week – just been too busy and distracted – BUT, we are now in St Francisville, Louisiana and had to show you this.
We left our friends in Crestview, Florida at a quarter to eleven this morning. Had a great ride along I-10, riding through Alabama (great visitor centre) then Mississipi. A heavy cloud suddenly burst into torrential rain but there was nowhere to pull in and put waterproofs on; fortunately! As we reached the western end of the delta, we saw lots of smoke ahead and the traffic slowed to a crawl. We crept along, fearing for the clutch. Behind us, sirens approached – fire engines.
