P1110374I WAS UP EARLY, AND WAS  PACKED N ON THE ROAD BY 0830.IT WAS COLD, SO I HAD BOTH THE THICK HELLY SHIRT, AND THE RAIN JACKET ON

I WENT EAST ON I-69 UNTIL I GOT TO I-53 THEN HEADED SOUTH;THIS WAS THE SAME ROAD CHRISTINE AND I TOOK LAST YEAR AND DESPITE THE ODD TRAFFIC LIGHT, IT WAS GOOD GOING AND FAR LESS CONGESTED THAN THE INTERSTATE – ESPECIALLY AROUND THE DETROIT AREA. (Christine here: I thought we would most likely be killed on some sections of the horrendously busy and crazy I-75 around Detroit)

I CROSSED THE OHIO STATE LINE AT 1050. I RODE PAST THE OHIO TURNPIKE, AND PULLED IN TO THE BIG VELERO TRUCK STOP, WHERE I FILLED UP, 118.8 MILES ON THE TRIP COUNTER – AND BOUGH A YORK PATTY AND OUR FIRST STATE LOTTERY TICKETS.

P1110377I SET OFF FROM THERE AT 1105, FLEW DOWN THE TURNPIKE, AND PULLED INTO THE FIRST  DOLLAR GENERAL STORE I PASSED, LOOKING FOR A $20 INTERNATIONAL PHONE CARD. UNFORTUNATELY THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY, SO I CARRIED ON TO PETE & BARB’S.
PULLING IN THE DRIVE AT 12 30, AND UNLIKE ANY OF THE PREVIOUS YEARS, ASKED FOR A BIG MUG OF COFFEE, RATHER THAN A BEER!

P1110379P1110376TODAY HAS BEEN SPENT GETTING KEYS CUT, DIGGING OUT THE OLD TRACFONE AND PUTTING CREDIT ON IT. THAT ENTAILED A TRIP TO ANOTHER DOLLAR GENERAL, WHEW WE GOT THE LAST  200 MINUTE CARD. FROM SCRAPING OFF THE PIN NUMBER AND  STARTING THE TEDIOUS PROCESS OF ENTERING ABOUT 6 STRINGS OF  10 – 15 NUMBERS; IT TOOK ABOUT 25 MINS TO GET THE PHONE CREDITED. SO, ITS GOING TO BE SPOTTY CONTACT OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS, AS I WANT TO GET SOME SHOOTING IN WHILE HERE.

IN THE MEANTIME, TAKE CARE OUT THERE
